I was surprised to see that my version of NIS 2012 was updated even though in my Settings I have the option Automatic Download of New Version set to OFF. How could that happen, and how can it be avoided in the future. At no time did I get a notification of the udate, nor the option to do it later.

The way I think of it is that from NIS 2012 to NIS 2013 is in fact a version upgrade, while from NIS 19.9.0.9 to NIS 19.9.1.14 is a version update.
IMHO the setting is in fact misnamed in that it should say Automatic Download of Version Upgrade. As in an upgrade changes the main v # from 19 to 20, while an update changes the v # within the main v#. ie 19.1 to 19.2 etc.
OK, thanks for the elucidation on that. That's the first time I've come across an explanation of the difference between the two. Makes sense I guess. I would still like to be able to block or delay an update until I'm ready for it, and so I don't end up getting little surprises croppimg up here and there.
