After I told my firewall to deny access to the Net for PIFTS, I found out that Live Update will no longer install any of the updates. I did a full shutdown of my system, then tried Live Update again. What happens is that it discovers what files I am in need of updating, it then downloads all files needed for updates, but when the first install happens LU errors out and says it can not install any of the updates.
No matter what I do (as I did try this by returning Net access to PIFTS) Live Update says it can not install anything. Which right now basiclly means that my Norton AV isn't functioning correctly, as I now do not have the current definitions to scan my system with. Am I sure that dening access to PIFTS caused this...no....though it is the only thing I did before I realized that the file was a Norton file and went back to run a Live Update.
Any ideas on what I need to do to restore LU so I can install the files I need to stay current?
