I'm having this issue with my PC Security. It needs to be updated. Whenever I update it, it won't completely finish updating. It will, but it will have an error message that says
Not all of the updates were successful.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Welcome,
Sorry for the delay. Most of the helpers here are volunteers and try to have a bit of a life offline. They seem to try even harder on the weekend.
Can you tell us a bit more about your system - OS, version of what Norton product you're running, if there's been a different security program on this computer before Norton? You know the basics so we can get a clearer picture of what's happening and maybe even a clue as to why.
Thanks
Has this been going on for awhile, or has it just started happening? It may just be a server issue, in which case waiting and retrying again later may be all that is necessary.
I run an old computer. I'm eventually going to buy a new one. I run Windows XP, an old HP computer which I got in 2005. The Norton Suite I have is from Comcast I got free from subscription.
This hasn't happened before. I've had a couple issues with Norton but it went away. This just started happening about 9 days ago. I can't seem to get past this no matter how many times I run live update.

Hi Jbroun22,
Are you rebooting the computer in between running liveupdate, when the updates fail to install. Upon restart, do you give the computer sufficient time to load properly before running liveupdate or opening programs.
As has been said, it could be server related, in which the best a person can do is wait. Are you continuing to receive Pulse Updates.
Ed
Hi jbroun22,
Easy things first - please verify your system time, date and time zone are correct.
Please tell us what version of Norton Security Suite (NSS) you are running. From the main page select Support and then select About - please tell us the full version number.
Let us know and we'll go fromt here.
I have not been rebooting when it runs live update, although on some occassions when I turn my computer on I immediatly go to Norton because it tells me it needs to be updated, so maybe I'm not waiting for the computer to load up.
I live in Pacific Time. Running Version: 3.8.3.6
Hi jbroun22,
Version 3.8.3.6 is a very old version, please follow the instructions in this Norton Security Suite FAQ from the Comcast Forums in order to get your version upgraded to the most current. When you get to the part about downloading NSS, you will have to click on the X (to close the poup or scroll down and click on No Thanks) and then click on GET IT NOW Button to start the download and install of NSS.
Once you complete all of the instuctions, please let us know how things go.
I don't know if this will help anyone else(I have Windows 8 with Norton 360 on two computers) and there have been some posts that the update failed to complete in several forums. I was having the same problem for about a month on my main computer. The second computer would update without problems. To make it short, I listed the programs on both computers to find differences. It came down to MS Silverlight and Bing Desktop and Bing Bar only on the main. I removed these downloads/programs from my main computer as they made no difference to me. Cleaned registry and restarted. Update downloads and processes to complete now. I don't know why this worked, or what was causing the updates to fail to complete, but this simple change worked for me.
