For the past few days when I run Live Update I end up with quite a few updates. The Update screen ends with a "to receive the most current updates you must restart your computer" or "restart later". Ok, so I hit restart. When my computer comes back on, if I run another live update, the updates show again with the same command to restart. This happens over and over again. So how do I get those updates to take effect????

When you say it hangs at the end of the updates, how long are you letting it run before determining that it has hung? The final processes of the update can take quite some time while the window gives no indication that anything is happening. If you see this lasting over a minute, you might have a problem.
Having the same problem even after PC restart. This has been going on for weeks. Program hangs at finishing installation of updates.
Hello JanLW56
You are very welcome. I'm glad you got your program running as it should. Thanks for coming back and giving us the feedback.
Have a Good Night and
Thanks.
Followed your advice, and so far it looks like everything is back up and running correctly.
Thanks
Hello JanLW56
You can try using the Remove and Reinstall Tool to give you a fresh copy of the program. Please back up your ID Safe first and read the before you start. It is possible that your Norton program got corrupted.

Please use the Remove Only choice and then restart your computer.
You can get a fresh copy of your program from your Norton Account.

This will give you an activated copy of your program.
Please remember to run Live Update until you have no more update restarting as necessary.
Please let us know how you made out.
Have a good night and
Thanks.
Yes, I have shut everything down and booted back up after a 5 minute wait and nothing has changed. It has been recurring over the last 3 or so months, but now is at the point of not finishing at all. I have auto update checked but this version has ended up always up telling me to update. My husband's solution........buy a new computer. Maybe I shouldn't argue with that! Thanks.
Have you restarted your computer? There may be some pending Norton or Windows updates that are required for Norton to work correctly.
How long have you been seeing the problem? Sometimes it can just be temporarily server issues that normally sort themselves out within 24 hours. You are still protected by the many other layers of protection in your Norton product.
