I just upgraded from the last 2012 version (6.4?). I am now running 20.2.0.19. My operating system is Windows 7, 64-bit. Anyway, after the installation and the required restart, I ran LiveUpdate as a formality (I'll admit to being a compulsive LiveUpdater; normally if I see that it's been more than five minutes since a definitions update, I'll run LiveUpdate, and if I see anything more than ten minutes I sort of panic, even though I know Norton updates don't occur at set times).
There were 14 updates, which seemed normal for the first time running LiveUpdate on a particular version, but one didn't download and install (a Web Definitions update, though luckily there was another one in the thirteen that did install). 360 gave me the option to install a patch, so I did. After that, I ran LiveUpdate again; the same update didn't download, and I got the option for a patch again. I installed the patch, figuring maybe it was a different one or an updated one or it didn't install properly the first time. I ran LiveUpdate again and the same file failed again, but this time there was no patch option.
It's been about an hour now and that same update still won't come through, though other updates have (Pulse Updates seem to reset the time for last definitions update?). My computer and 360 in general are otherwise acting very normal. I've run scans and they've all come up clean. I restarted my computer at one point, but that didn't help.
I know that Norton occasionally has "hiccups" with one or two stubborn downloads, or at least that was my experience with the previous version, but most of the time, it was a "Recommened" update (e.g. Data Map). This one being a critical web definitions update, I'm a little more concerned, though I'm careful when it comes to web surfing and I'm the only person who ever uses this computer. I also realize that there may be some kinks in the new version that are still being worked out. That said, if anyone can suggest something more productive than waiting it out, I'd be happy to hear it.
