I've checked throughout this site and through Google for an answer to this and couldn't find one, so I apologize in advance if I missed the answer somewhere!
My father has a brand new computer that he installed Norton 9.0 on. At first everything worked fine, and he then proceeded to load some other software that he regularly uses. After he installed ACT! 2000, his LiveUpdate function no longer worked.
The error message received is "Symantec failed to install latest LiveUpdate for your product. Please try running the AutoFix tool again. Download complete".
We have tried running luall.exe by itself; it does not run. We then tried uninstalling and reinstalling Norton to no avail. He can pull down his updates manually, but that is relatively time-consuming for him to do once a week.
Additionally, this is not the first time this has happened. I've dealt with several computers in the past that had the same problem once ACT! was installed. From what I gather, ACT! used to be owned by Symantec, so I'm thinking maybe some registry or process item has been overwritten with an older version...?
Help please?
