RE: Symantec-Archive Server and LiveUpdate Questions:
I have the Norton SystemWorks 2003 installation CD, and I use it to re-install Ghost 2003 if the need arises. It installs Ghost 2003, build .775.
In the past, I was able to update the LiveUpdate program to the most recent version, and update the *Settings.Hosts.LiveUpdate* file that allowed me to select either the *SYMANTEC-ARCHIVE*, or *SYMANTEC-LIVE* update servers. I used the instructions found at this link:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/sharedtech.nsf/docid/2007010219171513
In order to update my re-install of Ghost 2003, I need to access the *SYMANTEC-ARCHIVE* server. The first update would update Ghost 2003 to build .789. The second update would update Ghost 2003 to build .793--the most recent and final build for Ghost 2003.
I recently had to re-install Ghost 2003, and I updated LiveUpdate to version 3.5.0.64. And I select *SYMANTEC-ARCHIVE* in the *Select location profile* drop down menu box. When I click on *Next*, a *progress bar* appears, and just above that there is a message, "Connecting to Symantec-Archive Server...". Then a new message briefly flashes saying, "Unable to connect to host...."
Then the LiveUpdate program says,
"LU1834: Update not found
LiveUpdate could not find an update file on the server. Please run LiveUpdate again."
I know that Ghost 2003 is no longer supported. I am not asking about Ghost 2003. I'm asking about the Symantec LiveUpdate program and the Symantec-Archive server--does anyone know:
1. Is the Symantec-Archive Server down?
2. Has the Symantec-Archive Server been moved to a new web-address?
3. Is Symantec no longer supporting and running the Symantec-Archive Server?
Thanks in advance for any info....
