Issue abstract:

Detailed description: I have just install a NAS on my local network, and I keep loosing it, what seems to fix it is I have to turn off smart firewall and VPN to be able to Map a Network drive successfully. I have been how to allow the firewall and VPN to allow my NAS to not be lost. I am looking for a simple explanation on how to add my NAS IP to be OK. I find procedures that do not work for my Norton. I am at the latest Norton 360. I am sure there is a simple fix to add the NAS IP, but I can not follow the info I find. I would think that there is an easy way to add an IP to the firewall and VPN to allow access (local only). Thanks Keith

@Keith_Gilpin I’m confused about using a VPN on your local network drive mapping setup. Are you making the NAS visible for outside your network access? If not disable the VPN.

I am not using my NAS outside my local network. What happens (I think) is I reboot my PC and then when I try to get to my NAS, it says windows can’t access it. The only way I have found to fix it is turn off my VPN, turn off my smart Firewall, and the I can reconnect my NAS drives. I do not understand what the VPN has to do with it, but I have tried with it still on and it will not reconnect. Only after shutting down both fire wall and VPN. I tthen can turn them both on and everything works for a while. I only have 1 pc on the network running Norton 360.
