Location services not working on Samsung Galaxy A3

Having spent hours on live chat with Norton support and getting absolutely nowhere, I'm trying the forums. I've read all the other threads on this forum that have had the same issue, but none of the threads has fixed it for me.

Location services simply doesn't work on the Samsung Galaxy A3, running Android 5.0.2. I've been through all the steps that Norton support has told me to, including removing and reinstalling the app (I've done this three times now); checking and triple checking all the location settings on the phone (set to high accuracy); Google Play Services is up and running, and so on. The app is activated; other services work.

At one point, Norton support told me the account was probably not activated yet. So I installed the Norton Family app on my iPhone and it worked immediately. I was able to track location.

Everything else works on the Samsung. The web browsing, messaging, etc. But Location Services comes up with the error that I have seen on this forum. When opening the Location tab on the parent screen, it says "No location data available for the device." When clicking refresh, it eventually comes back with "Sorry! We couldn’t track the current location of {CHILDNAME}. Please try after sometime."

Given that Location Services works perfectly fine on iOS, I think it must be Android 5.0.2. But Norton Support told me it works on all Android versions. I have scoured literally every option on the phone, and can find nothing that appears to be set incorrectly (the most important, I guess, being that Location services is turned on and set to high accuracy). I've even tried it with the other options (GPS and mobile; and GPS only).

Desperately looking for an answer to this problem, and hoping that the Norton engineers will pick this up. I've spoken to nine support staff at Norton over the chat system, going over the same things time and again. I hope this won't end up with just getting a refund, since the product looks great. But keeping track of your child's location is the number one reason for using this app. And so far I'm paying for something that doesn't work.

Thank you
