Hello again Rainbow_2,

I apologise for the delayed response….  To say that the end of last week as well as the start of this week have been hectic, would be an understatement.

I still maintain, that if either the System Name or User Name is causing you this much duress, I would absolutely seek to amend it.  Then again, that’s me.  Regardless, (now) is the issue that you are concerned with, uploading specific files to say VirusTotal? Or, is it more that you are concerned about posting the respective log(s) generated by either SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) or Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM) to a technological forum such as here or Bleeping Computer for fear of personal details present in the logs?  With respect to the former, when I submitted suspicious files to Symantec for further evaluation, I zipped them, and, I could be wrong, however, I believe (from their end) they only saw the items in question, not necessarily the path from my computer used to upload them.  With respect to the latter, I would just edit any personal details in say the Notepad log generated by MBAM and replace with non-personally identifiable information then post or e-mail.  Especially if you e-mail MBAM Support, again, I don’t think they can see the path you used to upload the attached log.

Best,

No problem, HB, we all have a private life outside of the Forum...

Yes, I think the same as you, and I’ll have it changed at the earliest opportunity I’ll see the computer guy, yes that computer guy –  In his defense, I must say that the mistake about the system name wasn’t made by him but by his son….

The former “…uploading specific files to say VirusTotal” concerns me mostly.

However, since in the case in question it is almost certainly a FP, I think I’ll stop inquiring at this point, and mark this thread as solved.

Thanks all for posting your opinions, I greatly appreciated it!
