I have a subscription for 3 licenses and only use 2. I just installed Windows 7 on my computer (had XP Pro), so I backed up programs (incl Norton 360), uninstalled XP and installed Windows 7 and all my programs. Somewhere along the line I messed up and when I put in the product key it used my 3rd (previously unused) license. The problem is that none of my passwords/logins are in my Norton 360 now. I'm assuming this is because Norton recognizes this as a new install and not a transfer. Is there a way I can recover my passwords/logins that I had backed up?

Welcome,
Where did you backup the identity safe data? Are you using local vaults or do you have an online vault [a Norton server]?
Thanks

For regaining the unused installation there are a couple of ways to do this. Go to www.manage.norton.com. Sign in using the email and password for your Norton Account. Click on the 'My Account' tab. See if you can identify the old installation and click on the trash can beside that. That will free up the extra installation.
The other route to take is to use Support online chat feature found here www.norton.com/chat. Explain the situation to them and they can fix you up.
Or for now, you could ignore the issue until you need the third installation.
The identity safe data was backed up to an external hard drive and then reinstalled on my pc after installing Windows 7. My Norton 360 is working fine except that I don't know how to access the logins/passwords that I had stored in identity safe.

If you have the backup on the external drive, you just have to Import the Identity Safe data into your new installation from the external drive.
Click Settings - Web- Identity Safe. Then click on 'configure' beside Import Data. Navigate to the backup file on the external drive.
