I upgraded to Internet Security 2012. When I logged into Identity Safe I had to convert my remote profile to my computer. When I did that. It seems to have lost the local profile altogether. I would have liked to merge them instead. Is there a way to retrieve the original local profile?
Yes I had a local profile. When i went to log in it asked whether I wanted to log into the local profile or convert the remote profile. I moved to fast and converted the remote profile thinking I would then have two profiles on my computer. I probably should have opened the local profile and then merged the remote profile but I didn't realize the local one would not be accessible. I just upgraded today so would the local profile still reside somewhere on my hard drive?
Hi Fitzo,
When did you have local profile? before upgrading to NIS 2012?
If you had local profile in NIS 2011, How did you move to 2012? Have you installed NIS 2012 after uninstalling NIS 2011?
If you would have unstalled NIS 2011 by selecting the following option "Please remove settings and password", then you have deleted local profile before moving to NIS2012. Attached screenshot for your reference.
As I mentioned earlier Convert portable to local profile dialog will appear only if we don't have local profile in it. Attached screenshot for your reference.
If you had local profile, Idenitity safe would have asked you to merge instead of converting profile. Attached screenshot for your reference
If you have backup of idenity safe data, you can merge data to current profile. If you don't have backup of idenity safe data, you can't get those data back to your profile.
Hope this clarifies your quries.
Thanks,
Senthil
