I'm having a bad time with Norton at the moment.
One day for no reason I got error 3038,104 when trying to run a scan. I followed all the instructions Norton recommended to fix it, but nothing worked. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled. It worked fine for a couple of days.
A few days later, Windows pops up a message telling me that Norton hasn't updated for a few days. So I go to run liveupdate and I get error 8921,240. It refused to update. Again I followed the instructions to no effect. So I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Lo and behold, I get the same error 3038,104 that I got a few days previous when trying to run a scan. I reinstalled for a third time and got error 8508,129. I uninstalled it and went for a 30 day Kaspersky trial instead.
My Kaspersky trial finished yesterday so I reinstalled Norton. It has been working fine with updates and quick scans since yesterday, but I just did a full scan of my computer. It found for viruses in my email client's junk folder which allegedly got resolved and moved to quarantine. I wanted to run another full scan just to be safe and I got YET ANOTHER 3038,104.
Norton is up to date. It's the latest version. As is everything on my computer. It worked fine for 10 months and now this. I'm sick of it. I have less than a month of my membership remaining and I'm not reinstalling this broken product any more. Please tell me how to fix this or I'll be switching to Kaspersky full time.
