Hi.
I’m using NIS 2007 and automatic updates is turned off because of my allergies to anything and everything that is automated.
Sometimes when I open NIS 2007 and click the “Run Live Update” link, LU won’t start. There is no reaction. When this happens, LUCOMS~1.EXE is running in the background. It should not be running for no reason, but sometimes it does run for no reason. And when it is running, I can not open the LU window.
Does anyone know why LUCOMS~1.EXE sometimes is launched at system startup? Those times when this process has started by itself, I can not run LU. I have two options to stop LUCOMS~1.EXE:
1) Go into NIS settings, unprotect the NIS product, shut down LUCOMS~1.EXE with the Task Manager. Then go back into the NIS settings and “protect the NIS product”.
2) Reboot (logging off and logging in is not helping).
Right now I can’t be bothered with either of the two options, so I’ll just skip the update today.
