A family of four, I want to monitor all of us. I set it up on all of our Windows computers, works for all users, but my Mac does not seem to monitor any site. MACOS 10.7.4. I have tried Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on the Mac.
I tried monitoring admin accounts, child accounts, logged in as my son on my mac and still no monitoring.
I can configure it with the tray icon on the Mac.
Norton extensions are installed for Safari (viewed installed Safari extensions : NortonSafetyMinderBF
Online I see the Mac, it looks like a valid device and sees all the users.
Just no logging is occuring.
I have been over and over the settings and it looks like all the norton settings are done correctly.
For Firefox, please click on the Tools item on the top menu bar, go to add-ons, then click on the extensions item on the left hand side of the screen. If it has a button next to the Norton Safety Minder saying enable, you need to click that. If it says Disable, you need to click enable then restart Firefox.
What version of Norton Safety Minder is installed on the Mac?

For the version of Norton Safety Minder on Mac, please click the Norton QuickMenu icon -> Select Norton Safety Minder -> Edit Account, then you should see the version number on the screen.
Thanks for the information. Now we can narrow down the issue a little bit. You mentioned " I turn blocking OFF...". Please let us know what option do you select "Give a warning but allow XXX on the site anyway" or "monitor only (All Web blocking turned off) at Settings -> Web?
Scenario One: "Web Supervision" turned on, and the "Monitor only" radio button is selected.
In this scenario no web history is displayed (on Mac/Firefox) but works on Windows
Scenario Two: "Web Supervision" turned on, and the "Give a warning but allow XXX on the site" radio button is selected.
In this scenario web history IS displayed on the Mac!! I just uncheck all the boxes in "Site Category" so no warnings are given while browsing.
So it looks like we have a workaround for this problem and have identified how the Mac/Firefox environment works differently than the Windows environment. This is "good enough" for web monitoring for me, for now.
Thanks for the help and if you like, you can give me a free upgrade for the testing!!! :)
P.S. I'd like to see support for the other browsers. Also, I'll start trying out the other functionality as well.
I am having a very similar issue and the stated fix the did not work for me.
This is what I have :
The Norton Safety Minder Version is 3.0.1r22.
Firefox is version 15.0.1.
MacMini OS is 10.7.4
None of the blocks are working on the firefox broswer and none of the firefox activities are reporting in the supervisor console. I did check the the ensure that the SafteyMinder extension was correctly installed and enable in Friefox was it is.
Also, I do have Safari on this machine and the blocks are working correctly and the activites are report correctly as well. Please help.
