I attempted to install Norton Family on my (old) macbook which I gave to my son after purchasing a new macbook for myself.
The installation went smoothly until I was prompted for the email address under which I registered my Norton account. It would not accept my email address and prompted me to create a new account. I ended up killing the install and rebooting. Upon reboot, I tried to connect the computer to my Norton account - it asked for my email address and password. I provided both but received an error message that I had an incorrect username/password combo.
I gave up on the mac for a minute and attempted to install on a PC running Windows Vista - no issues whatsoever.
I tried the macbook again - still did not work. I initiated a chat and ended up speaking with a rep on the phone who told me that Norton Family is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8, and that I had to upgrade to 10.7.
Really? Please advise.
