Things seemed to be working with my cross-platform installation. I started with 4 machines and 4 kids, whereby each child can log into any machine. There is 1 MAC and 3 Windows (Vista / Win 7) machines. Initial installations seemed to work well.
Subsequent to installation, I changed passwords on both OS X (realizing that certain kids knew the passwords) and the Norton account. Windows machines recognized the new passwords, since they rejected the old passwords when performing functions like "Edit Accounts".
The Mac though, is causing much (MUCH) grief. Going to the pull-down "Norton Safety Minder" / "Edit Accounts" shows the correct Parent Email, but the Parent password is the orginal password. Typing in the new password (which Windows accounts recognize) fails. Typing in the original password works, but it is clearly disconnected from the true central account info on Norton website. Therefore, updating profile information for kids does not sync back to this machine (manual or automatically).
I've uninstalling and reinstalling is useless. Every time I reinstall, it recognizes the previous install and grays out machine name, parental email, and parental password. On the website, I went so far as removing the Mac machine; hoping it would clean up the mess. Now, the machine is not listed on website, but the Mac version still acts like it is connected to website.
I've tried varios combinatations like disconnecting internet during reinstall, after install, etc. It doesn't seem to care if it's connected to internet or not. What seems DEFECTIVE here is that, while connected to internet, and editing settings it does not verify password with Norton WEBSITE, it seems to be cached locally. Further, "Update House Rules" acts like it is updating but does nothing. Uhh, shouldn't this at least produce an error saying cached credentials don't match website credentials while trying to synch?
Version installed is : 1.2.0f44
Thanks
