The more time goes on, the more I am getting fed up with Norton. Had premium, renewal time came up. Did not need to support 10 devices anymore. I just wanted to downgrade. Tried that online and I kept getting error messages. Finally had to contact Norton and it took the rep, who was very nice & polite, about 30 minutes to straighten that out. Now have Norton Deluxe and EVERYTIME I boot up, Norton’s main menu and Norton advertisements along with it. Slows the system down and takes forever to clear it off so I can get on to work. Have always had popups, etc. turned off. There are NO settings of any kind in any of Norton’s menus. I’m sorry Norton but we do NOT have time to call or chat. We have work to do. Too much control! Micromanaging is not good for business!! How do I stop the main menu from popping up on start up?
Below are the steps you can follow to turn off the start up entry on your device.
-
Open Run command with Windows and R key.
-
Then msconfig and press Enter
-
Also specify the administrator privilege if necessary.
-
Move to the System Configuration window, click on the “Startup” ta
-
Now, look for the the entry associated with Norton
-
You should uncheck the box next to the Norton entry to turn it off.
-
Then select the OK option to apply all the changes.
