I have norton multi-device (aka 360 premier) insight turned off, which is supposed to disable the community watch.
norton still keeps deleting perfectly good files without notifying me. no popup. no sound. nothing. just silence and poof the file is gone within about 15 sec and I see the log entries below in my history.
the reputation thing is pretty much a detriment now because people are abusing the concept. of flagging new viruses and malware. now, it seems like any open source program with a bug is being flagged because the program isn't perfect or they don't like something.so it gets a bad "reputation". so now it's purely subjective. "this program doesn't work, so I'll flag it as bad".
AND what I am finding is that programs that have fixes to the bugs (different versions of the same program with different filename) are still being flagged as "WS.Repurtation.1" somehow. so the whole idea needs to be scrapped due to user abuse.
what's below is a pre-release cd burning program I like to use and it's a perfectly good program I am trying to help someone debug.
the community watch thing keeps deleting perfectly good programs because people are flagging programs as viruses because of program bugs, not because they are viruses.

this is listed over and over, one for every time I download. I turned off auto-protect, sonar, insight, set low risks to ask me and only this stopped norton from removing the file.
also, norton keeps turning on the tracking cookies scan, I want this set to IGNORE by default and to stay that way.
it corrupts browser proifiles and firefox developers say touching cookies (browser internals) is a no-no and it corrups the browser profile. this causes the browser to act wacky from what I have learned.
in the off-chance it might be touching ff, I want this as IGNORE by default.
