I asked for such an option in 2009 and 2010 and it is still missing in the current 2011 beta:
I don't trust any AV product that much, that I would allow the program to delete any files.
If the program thinks it has found a threat, it should tell me (e.g. you can block access until the user make a decision).
I understand, that the default setting from Norton AV programs, to delete any detected threats without user interaction, might be the best choice for users without knowledge, but for professional users, it is a nightmare.
So adding an option to allow people, who think they are pros and want to be responsible for their own system's health, would allow them to run any Norton AV product without the fear "When you come back to your system, after Norton has run an idle scan, all your files are deleted"...
