Thanks in advance for reading. I purchased the 3-computer version of NIS 2009 from Amazon, boxed of course.
I have not yet installed it on any computer, nor even removed the CD from the box yet, because I wanted to ask a question here first.
I have read that it is best to have a Norton Account to handle the license keys, so that when you need to reinstall the operating system, the key will be grabbed from online keeping a nice 365-day continuum and tracking for expiration purposes.
So, anticipating this, I went to mynortonaccount.c o m , and got a Norton Account, login and password, etc. However, this is no place inside of this account interface (online) to store my initial license code.
Now then, for when I install this product on the first of the 3 machines, do I just “login” at some point during the installation screen to begin this process of allowing Norton to handle my 3 keys?
(the user guide says nothing about this, which is the reason I am asking. The guide says only, “On installation screen, enter the Product Key if prompted”. What I am trying to learn is whether, and when, this will be tied in to my Norton Account online using the login and password provided for that account. Basically I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly, so that I have Norton keeping track of my keys online from the get-go.)
