Recently, my other computer has picked up on a file that I can't explain. Norton apparently missed it, but my Comodo firewall picked it up as an outgoing connection. It traced back to a non-existant folder, so I cranked up the security on Comodo and it picked up on the file trying to interact with my Google desktop. So far, I've quarintined it and I'm not hooking my other computer up to the inernet until I can figure out what to do with it.
I'm suspecting that its a root kit, but it might be a virus. One of my buddies also had the problem and cracked the file open and looked through it, and it contained alot of "padding", with things like the alphabet in sequence, the days of the weak, and other stuff like that. Thats usually something a virus has to make it look legit.
Norton missed it even though I just updated, so I don't know if this is the right board for this.
