Malware? **YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN BLOCKED**

Twice in the last two days I have received a pop-up window/tab in my Chrome browser with this message. Clearly appears to be a scam. Urges me to call toll free (877)XXX-XXXX so their "engineers" can walk me through the removal process. The header on the first pop up said, "dxxxxxxxxxxxx629.com" (a bogus URL) and the second one says, "mxxxxxxxxxxxxxx83.com".

My question is how do I get these to stop?  I have done complete scans of my PC with my Norton and nothing is showing up as a problem or resolved.

Any help appreciated!

@R_Fox:

Ensure you're using the latest version of Firefox or Chrome:

Plz keep your Norton product up-to-date:

Then, as for your Q above... maybe the site you were using was hacked, was embedded with mals (the above 2 flagged sites) and the like.

Thanks...

Hi R_Fox,

Please see this reply posted in another thread  shortly ago by @lmacri .  You might want to follow what it has been suggested regarding adware/scamware/scareware's possible infection.

First of all try to remember wish site you go to that triggers this. Then no longer go there. Secondly add uBlock Origin to your extensions. Third download Chrome clean up tool.
