A new version of your product Malwarebytes 4.5.32.271 component package 1.0.2051 is now available.
You can get the update right away by clicking "Check for updates" in Settings > General. Or, it will be automatically installed if you have automatic updates enabled.
We feel confident in the updated build for Malwarebytes 4 Premium and Teams so we decided to make this available to all users today versus next week. You can either wait for it to be installed automatically or you can manually update it yourself.
Important notes:
If you manually disabled Exploit Protection and/or anti-exploit protection for Chrome, you will need to manually enable these
If anti-exploit protection for Chrome was disabled automatically for you via Update package version 1.0.70914, you don't need to do anything as the update will re-enable this
To get the latest update, do this:
Open Malwarebytes -> look for the Settings gear in the top right -> About -> Check for updates and follow the prompts
To verify you have the right version, head back to the About tab and look for these:
Malwarebytes version 4.5.31.270
Component version: 1.0.2047
If you need to manually enable Exploit Protection, do this:
Open Malwarebytes -> look in the Real-Time Protection card on the dashboard and toggle on Exploit Protection
If you need to manually enable anti-exploit protection for Chrome, do this:
Open Malwarebytes -> look for the Settings gear in the top right -> Security and scroll to the bottom
Under Exploit Protection, click Manage protected applications - > toggle on Google Chrome (and plug-ins) and click done
Thanks again for everyone's patience on this and let us know if you see any issues.
Just a FYI that if you have a Win 11 OS and can't open your Chrome browser after installing the 13-Jun-2023 cumulative update KB5027231 (OS Build 22621.1848) that the problem might be related to exploit protection in Malwarebytes Premium v4.5.30.
See codesmithery's June 2023 Update (KB5027231) Prevents Google Chrome From Displaying in the Malwarebytes forum for a few suggested workarounds until Malwarebytes can release a bug fix [e.g., go to Settings | Security | Exploit Protection | Managed Protected Applications and temporarily turn OFF protection for Google Chrome (chrome.exe)].

As usual, if you don't want to wait for the 'Update Available' notification, go right ahead and retrieve the update manually by clicking "Check for updates" in Settings > General.
Features and improvements
Smart Scan - We just changed the game for scheduled scans with Smart Scan! The Smart Scan option now allows a scheduled scan to start only if the computer is in an idle state. Limiting scheduled scans to start only idle time will provide a significant performance improvement as the default nightly scheduled scan (that is typically skipped because the device is usually powered off at night) will no longer kickoff when the computer is first started and hog resources that are needed for the task at hand.
Smart Scan is automatically enabled for the default scheduled scan
Smart Scan is on by default for all new scheduled scans
Scan reminder for new downloads - Our Free product is now even more amazing with new logic that reminds you to scan when we find new files in the download folder. While this isn’t a substitute for Real-Time Protection, it helps build better security habits.
Security Advisor:
Check startup apps - Assists you in optimizing your computer performance by helping to find apps that have a high impact on Windows startup.
Notify for new issues - Updated the display logic so that these notifications no longer auto-dismiss.
New background - Malwarebytes has a fresh new look thank to the newly added Clean Sky background. Now users can choose between three great backgrounds to personalize Malwarebytes.
Improved error handling for update issues - Today users see an error dialog if the UI is open when a background update fails. This is a poor user experience because the issue is most often automatically resolved on the next update attempt.
Minor performance improvements
Added translations for new UI flows
Issues fixed
Missing scan details on Scheduled Scans page
Button displays incorrectly in Dark mode
Global stats not populating on Real-Time Protection page
We have rolled out this week's new version of your product, 4.5.20.230 component package 1.0.1868
As you know by now, if you don't want to wait for the 'Update Available' notification, go right ahead and retrieve the update manually by clicking "Check for updates" in Settings > General.
Features and improvements
Security Advisor notifications - Customizable notification that helps you stay secure by informing you when Security Advisor finds an issue that requires your attention. Notifications are enabled by default and can be disabled or re-enabled from the Notification tab in the Settings menu.
Tray icon - Primary click on the tray icon now launches the UI or brings it into focus. Previously a primary click opened the tray menu which was redundant since a secondary click does the same operation.
Uninstalls - Added guidance and updated our KB article for users who are looking to use Malwarebytes in conjunction with other security products.
Issues fixed
Product or OS functionality can be broken by blocking MS-signed not protected files (limited circumstances)
Incorrect dashboard notifications showing for Premium users
