I recall discussing this a year ago or more. Nothing has changed.
The "Services" tab cannot communicate with the "Devices" tab. I guess it's too far away. As a result, what's listed on the Devices Tab as "Office", or "My Laptop", or the Norton auto name "Windows 10-1", is listed on the Services Tab with a totally different name. One that is pulled from the actual computer.
Why can't the same information be on both tabs? Or something linking them, like numbering them. Or even putting the install date on both screens, not just the Services tab.That would at least help.
Having forgot to babysit this process while installing and decommissioning a few computers, I'm now back to not knowing which PCs correspond to which. What a stupid thing to have to deal with.
Thank God I'm not an IT guy with hundreds of installs to manage. Or trying to sell this idea to :management or a client.
"See, when you install it on new PCs, you can see them right here on this tab. Now look over here on this tab. You see the same PCs, but with a different name. That's a feature, not a bug."
