I am the family IT guy and have always had to manage multiple products and licenses across different households. Now with the introduction of Norton Security Deluxe with the option to have as many as 10 licenses for a single product my IT life is getting more simple. Parents and In-laws are perhaps the worst offender when is comes to updating the software (not definitions) and by now there should be an easier solution of administrators like myself to address these.
Norton Management (browser based) is weak...there should be room for renaming a device that you can actually track back to a specific machine, maybe by recording the MAC in the description. All I know is that I have a bunch of machines that I don't know the physical location of (barring driving all over the county) and I cannot push software updates to.
Norton Studio is worthless at addressing these same concerns and it would seem an excellent opportunity of develop a dedicated management console to wrangle all these devices.
Norton Family should have its own section in the management console as many of the devices I attend to are for children.
I would love to see something come of this thread and I believe that there are many subscribers that would appreciate this approach to managing our products and services. Let's take this to the top and turn the best product into one that is a crowd pleaser also!
