Managing File & Folder Backups

I run Ghost 15 on a Win7(64 bit) laptop. I'm trying to find a way to manage my File & Folder backups. The file version limit is set to 2 but there are hundreds of subfolders going back over several years in the File Backup Data folder. Similarly there are hundreds of entries under the Backup History tab, which take several minutes to load.

Does anyone know if there is a safe way of removing subfolders from the File Backup Data folder?, and will removing subfolders result in a corresponding reduction in the amount of history shown?

I've been a satisfied user of Ghost for many years and will be sad to move on when the time comes.

I've never been a fan of File and Folder Backup. It seems like it was patched in from another product to me. Anyway, I think the best way is to do (incremental) partition images. Look at THIS POST  by Allen M for more Pros / Cons.

I never really used F&F Backup other than just trying things to help other people. I was under the impression that once a file is backed up it won't be backed up again unless it changes. Unfortunately with the silly fbf files with cryptic names, it is difficult to tell.
