After installing NAV Mac 7.4, it popped-up showing me a outbound firewall connection it was blocking until I authorized it. The info presented by the app was totally unhelpful in helping me make the decision to allow or deny the connection. All it showed was that /sbin/launchd was trying to communicate on a particular port. Since /sbin/launchd is the parent process to practically every running process on the mac, that isn't really helpful. It did not show me the actual process that was trying to make the connection.
With the info presented in the dialog, there is no way to know if the connection is abnormal or not, so the user is left to simply guess (flip a coin).
