May Windows updates break access to UK websites

For those out there who are running Windows, if you cannot access UK websites this months updates are the culprit. Please read the following article for more info from Microsoft.

I did scroll down but the query applies to MS too!

Looks like MS has released this fix for all versions of Windows 10 and also Windows 7.

Update: Microsoft has released a fix for some Windows versions for the issue. Not for Windows 10.

After installing the May 14, 2019 update, some gov.uk websites that don’t support HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) may not be accessible through Internet Explorer 11 or Microsoft Edge.

 

Affected platforms:

  • Client: Windows 10, version 1809; Windows 10, version 1803; Windows 10, version 1709; Windows 10, version 1703; Windows 10, version 1607; Windows 10, version 1507; Windows 8.1; Windows 7 SP1
