Mbam problems with nis

Hi TooStrong

The AddOn Pack 4.6 is available... you may now want to wait to install ???

Please see your Topic > http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Are-NIS-2010-version-17-6-0-32-and-Norton-Add-On-Pack-4-5-0-24/m-p/219348#M107752

Thanks for the heads up about the Add On Pack 4.6 update.

I was told that if I subscribed to the message I would get notified when the thread was updated. But I didn't receive any notice about it???

I will try to download and install the update tommorrow. too late in the evening to try now. Since I have 3 sons also using the computer, I would rather have the Add On Pack with parental controls running, than have MBAM updating.

Apparently I can disable the add on pack long enough to update MBAM and then turn it back on.

Hi TooStrong

Sounds like a plan...:smileyhappy:

Good Night

Of course, temporarily disabling Parental & Privacy Controls is just a workaround.

In this stage it would be nice if someone of Norton could confirm the problem with the Add-On Pack 4.6 and MBAM 1.45 updating... just in the hopes of getting an update/patch for the problem soon. :smileyhappy:

Norton anyone???

Renehoss,  thanks to you they now know where the problem is, before I think everyone was just looking at the firewall and av part. I'm sure that norton and also malwarebytes is looking into this.

How can I tell what version of the Add-On Pack I'm running?

Pc_confused,  just click on help and support then about.

The mbam problem for me started with their 1.45 while running with the last version of the add on pack and continued with the latest.

nmac, thanks for the information.  I just wasn't looking down the list enough.

turning off privacy controls also stopped my 12150 error

seems like it started on 3/30 since that was the last time my MWB updated before today when I turned off privacy controls

would like to see a NIS fix

FYI

bjm,

I installed Norton Add On pack 4.6 tonight with Parental Controls and everything working ok with NIS 2010

except now I am back to MBAM won't update and I get the same error I received awhile back. (which I figured would happen since the addon pack and MBAM updating aren't cooperating with each other.)

Thanks again for letting me know the add on pack update was available.

Kevin

Hi, I've NIS2010 (v 17.6.0.32) with add on pack (4.6.0.10).. After MBAM program update from v1.44 to v1.45 MBAM definition updating stopped with error 12150. I've disabled both parental control & privacy control, then MBAM updates went fine. there seems to be some issue with norton addon pack. is there any fix from norton on this?

kkk.

Hi All,

Thanks for sharing this with us. We are able to reproduce this problem and currently investigating for the root cause. We will update this thread once we have an update.

Thanks

Ramesh

Hi Ramesh- Thanks for your help, and I’m sure everyone looks forward to your update.

This happens for me too in N360V4.1.0.32 with Norton Add-On Pack: 4.6.0.10. If I disable privacy, I can update, otherwise not.

Hi Symantec,

is there anything new about the patch for Norton Add on pack that people are able to update MBAM?

Michael

MBAM has started Beta testing 1.46 to try and fix many of the problems -

It is basically a large Patch over 1.45 so I hope most of the problems will be solved after that -

there should be a release in a week or 2 (hopefully) -

The problem, that MBAM cannot be updated, results from a bug in the Norton add on pack and has nothing to do with MBAM itself.

Therefore a symantec patch for the AOP is needed

Since MBAM version 1.44 had no problem updating in the presence of the AddOn pack, is it possible that version 1.46 might use some configuration of the update method used in the earlier version?

May we have an update from Symantec, please?

Michael

Hello

Version 1.46 of Malwarebytes is out now. I just received it when I updated the program. I had no problems before getting it to update either. Perhaps for those who were having problems updating to 1.45, maybe it will work for you now when you try updating it again. I guess you have nothing to lose to try and see if you can get it now to update.

I have no problem running the updated program 1.46 now, but the installation process ended up resulting in a IPS Detection Statistical Submission. That's the first time that has happened, but clicking on threads in the Forum has resulted in the same thing for a week now it seems like.
