will some one please for the love of god help me…

whats the point of this site if symantec or no one else offeres any help…

Sounds like you need to set a rule in the firewall for the program that talks to the xbox.  I don't have one, so I know nothing about what the xbox uses to communicate.  If it worked before the update, try setting the same rule to "allow"  or "allow always" or "automatic".  Sometimes just changing it and then changing it back to what it was will rewrite the rule and it will work.  So change the rule, close the rules, reboot, change the rule back, reboot and see if the xbox works then.

I’ve tried that…  it doen’t work…  I tried creating a rule with just my xbox’s IP addtess and that didn’t work either…  the firewall is blocking something WMP11 is using, but I can’t figure out what…

Hi casper316,

Searching the Symantec Knowledge Base, I found the following document for configuring xbox 360 with Norton 360 v2:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080108172314EN

If these steps don't resove the issue, I would recommend clicking the NO link at the bottom of that document, which will direct you to our Customer Support team. They will be able to further assist you in configuration. Thanks!

I can no longer steam media with media player 11 to my xbox 360's after the norton 360 v2.0 update...

it worked fine before the update, and I know its something to do with the firewall because I can disabel it and it will work normaly...  I have tried the suggestions I found while searching these forums and it did not work...  I am runing norton 360 v2.0 and windows vista ultimate 32bit.

I have the sane problem with my Xbox 360.

When I desactivate the Firewall and the Auto-protect of my Norton 360, my Xbox is finally able to connect on my Windows Vista Home Premium Edition PC, but at the moment I reactivate these protection, everything is blocked Musics, Photos, Videos and Windows Media Center. My Xbox 360 is even unable to detect my PC.

I followed your instruction Tony_Weiss, but it does not changed anything.

Yep, having the exactly same problem. I couldn't find those exe files mentioned in the help page Tony provided link for, none of the are found. Using WMP 11 for sharing and worked fine with Norton 360.

I read this message list and tried the suggestions.  And they did not work.

Allow me to let you know what worked for me, to allow my Xbox 360 to talk to my Vista Premium via Media Player sharing and Media Center Extender.

When you open up the Norton 360 panel, with the four big circles, you will see:

"my network" in small print in the lower left corner. Click on it.

Close the help/instruction box if it opens.  You should see a listing of network devices.  I believe your Xbox needs to be on at this point.

Find your device and select it.

To the right of "Trust Level" is an "edit button". Click on it.

Change the setting to "full trust", and if you are like me, you will be golden.

thanks a lot for your advince, it worked better than tony’s advice lol.

hello…  a little help would be appreciated…
