Message after Smart Scan

Issue abstract:Your data messages found on the dark web due to breaches

Detailed description:When I run a smart scan, it says there is a data leak even though there is no intrusion on the dark web. I checked the http://jp.norton.com website, but it says there is no information leak. I recently contacted Norton Support, and they said that they are displaying this message for sales promotion purposes and recommending the introduction of Norton Lifelock Advisor. I wonder if it is appropriate to display a message that a breach has been found even though there is no actual breach.

Product & version number:Norton360 Premium ,Program version is 25.8.10387,Build 25.8.10387,0

The difinition of virus is 250826-0

OS details: Windows11 24H2

What is the error message you are seeing? Your data has been infringed on the Dark Web

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:Why are you so sure that there is compromised data when there is no actual leak?If LIFELOCK is to be sold, the message should be displayed accurately and the program should be introduced as a preventative measure to monitor for data leaks, etc.

The messages after a Smart Scan are upsell promotions to try to get you to purchase another Norton paid feature. Just ignore them.

I understand what you are trying to say. However, I think this case involves the following issues. I am overinterpreting the issues a little, but:Violation of the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations (misleading representation of quality or advantages)

  1. Violation of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act
  2. Potential for fraud
  3. Damage to corporate credibility

To solve the above problem, I think the company should clarify the basis for the content displayed after smart scan and establish an internal legal system. As a temporary measure, I think the message content should be made clear to the user that there is no infringement.

This kind of behavior makes me question the quality of Norton’s products. Are there any other products that have been treated in a similar way? I have lost a lot of trust in this product.
