I have recently installed Norton on my new Windows 8 computer. After it was finished, when i opened the program it said my computer is at risk. I clicked on fix now, and it said fixing metered network setting. However, it has been doing this for several days and has not stopped. I went to the My Network setting, and when i click Configure [+] on Metered Broadband Mode, nothing happens.
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
Also be sure you have run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Let us know if this helps.
I got support and i restarted my computer after. I then ran LiveUpdate until there was nothing left to download. Though, nothing happens when i click configure still and when i choose to fix now it still continuously says it is fixing the metered network setting.
Try doing the fix from a Windows administrator account.
Can you post a screenshots of this problem showing the "at risk" message in Norton window and when it shows "fixing metered network settings"? This should help us further. Also, check if you have any other non-symantec security product installed. If so, uninstall it and then try to fix Norton.
Thanks,
HarryP
Thank you for all the help, but i realized since it was Windows 8 I had to install a newer version of Norton, and now everything is fine.
Good to hear you got things working again.
Always teething pains with a new OS.
