Microsoft Edge support is ending on Windows 7/8/8.1

Microsoft is also actively encouraging developers to drop support for Windows 7 and 8/8.1 as well. Maybe Norton will follow suit? Only time will tell. This just happens to be on the heels of Microsoft ending support for Windows 8.1 in exactly 30 days from now. More and more users are finding themselves outed by clinging to older operating systems thus giving avenues for the spreading of malware and other nefarious dealings. Those of you who are going to be affected should seriously consider upgrading to a newer OS. Windows 10 and 11 CAN be activated using install keys for Windows 7/8.1 so the transition should be painless.

Edited: Microsoft is already "pushing" WebView 2 to my Windows 10 & 11 machines this weekend. My Edge version as it stands in 108.0.1462.46 with WebView 2 version at 108.0.1462.44

Just another added reminder that Microsoft ends Windows 7 extended security updates on Tuesday January 10th 2023. The additional end of support by web browsers also should be making the decision to move on to Windows 10 fairly clear to all who are affected. Reminding everyone again that Windows 10 CAN be activated using install keys for Windows 7/8.1 so the transition should be painless. I just activated a clean install of Windows 10 Pro this evening with a valid Windows 7 Pro product key. Just a friendly reminder.
