I just had an extensive tour of the rabbit hole with Norton support. N360 used to have an option to turn "Microsoft Office Automatic Scan" on or off. That option no longer appears. After first telling me that N360 never had such an option (I then sent her the link), she assured me that scanning of MS Office documents is still built into N360 and documents are being scanned automatically.
Can anybody confirm this? In particular, is this true for Office 365 Home Premium/Office 2013?
Thanks.
Hi ChuckDavis666,
Like all antivirus products, Norton scans all files on access, and that includes Microsoft Office documents. The feature was a redundant throw-back that really no longer served any purpose. So it has been removed.
