After loading Norton 360, v 3.5, Microsoft Office files attached to emails will not open. Other email attachments will open, jpg etc. Forwarding the emails with the MS files to my other computer, also running Norton 360, results in the attachments opening just fine. I had a problem with the other computer when I installed Norton 360, but that resulted in programs that would not run. This is a little different.
Saving the attachment folders with other MS office files don't have a problem all of the files open just fine. Saving the email attachment MS file to the folder doesn't help, it still won't open. But it does if I attach it to an email and send it to the other computer. Disabling Norton 360 did not resolve the issue.
Any takers on this one??
Steve
Since disabling N360 does not solve the problem with the email attachment, what happens if you double click a MS Office file on your hard drive directly? Does it open or does the Office program start and say it can not find the file? Can you test this with and without N360 active?

Please try the suggestion from dbrisendine. Also delete the temp files and the Internet temp files. Let us know the result.

The office program always starts, the file won’t open. MS Office files that were on the hard drive prior to Norton 360 installation all open. MS Office files, received as an email attachment, won’t open, the program will.
The program starts and just sits there. It doesn’t give any indication that it can or cannot find the file. The banner at the top when the file opens shows the document’s file name. It appears the MS office thinks that the file is open but nothing shows up.
