Microsoft Remote-Asistance/Easy-Connect being blocked...

Ever since I installed NIS 2011/2012 I'm unable to use the Windows7 "Remote Assistance" application with family members I'm trying to help.  I setup the "EasyConnect" functions with my computer before shipping their new computers to them.  And it worked for awhile...until I installed NIS.  Now, we can't connect through "EasyConnect", or even with the "invitation file" option.

Is there some way to configure NIS to allow "Windows Remote Assistance" to work again?

Hey

You can configure your program in Norton Smart Firewall.

Go Norton UI, Settings = Network = Norton Smart Firewall = Program Controll and then choose which program configure/change or advanced settings and create a firewall rule for your program.

So, since I was unable to reply back to this message (other than to click on "Kudos"  which would not be true, since the suggested solution did not work), I'm posting this again.  I STILL cannot connect to any of the 3 people I used to be able to assist...(And yes, we ALL have Windows-7...)  I was able to be at my father's house a few weeks ago, we spent about 2 hours on the phone with someone in India? trying to solve the problem...(Trying to talk to someone when English seems to be their 3rd language is getting TIRESOME and FRUSTRATING!)  We never solved the problem, but we WERE able to satisfy ourselves that the problem was NOT on HIS computer.

The problem is still MY computer, and I'm the one with NIS/2012 installed, and that seems to be the source of the problem.

So, following the instructions from "Sweman", I did the following:

Open NIS 2012

Settings | Network | Smart Firewall | Program Controll | Add:

Windows Remote Assistance | C:\Windows\System32\msra.exe | ALLOW

---------

Error Message from "Windows Remote Assistance":  Can't connect to the global peer-to-peer network.

So, obviously, creating a rule exclustion for msra.exe does NOT allow me to connect to the "global peer-to-peer network.  (It didn't work in Texas over a wireless connection; and it's not working here in Colorado using a wired-connection to an Qwest/PK5000Z modem...)

So, I'm still waiting for a solution from Norton...after complaining about this for about 6 months.
