There is no way to Save your Rules.

Hi,
Unfortunately, there are no migration options available for the firewall rules from NIS 2008 to NIS 2009.
Thanks,
/Chester
Thanks for the info! I’ll update with the link.
Greetings!
I have been a long time user of symantec products and Norton NIS in particular. One of my favorite features is the capability to create my own customized rules to block certain I.P. addresses and ranges during my current subscription to NIS 2008.
There are 130 days left on my current subscription, and intend to let it run until then. 2009 edition looks great and I am looking forward to it very much.
Since I have created a staggering amount of rules with hundreds of I.P. and ranges, will / would it be possible to preserve these when I update to NIS 2009? Is there a migration tool availiable?
I read in another thread titled: Exporting your Norton Add-on Pack settings while upgrading to Norton Add-on Pack 2.1 and am not sure this would pertain to personal generated firewall rules.
I remember a few years back how NIS would retain settings when upgrading. However, I am not so sure this is the case now, and the 2009 looks like a new format altogether.
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know no to saving your settings. You do not have to wait to install NIS 2009 cause your license for 2008 will work with 2009. When ever upgrading its always best to start off fresh by doing a complete uninstall of your old version and a nice fresh install of NIS 2009.
