Missing Drive Letter

I recently re-installed the driver for the internal DVD drive on my Dell laptop. However, N360 now doesn't show the DVD drive as a possible backup destination. Any ideas?

Hello balrog,

Open the Norton 360 Manage Backup Window  > "Where" tab and click Refresh.

Let us know if the drive is now recognized.

I've tried refresh, both before and after a re-boot, but the D: drive still isn't listed in the Where tab.

Should I consider re-installing N360 v4 ?

Will I run into re-activation problems if I do?

Hi balrog

Does the drive appear in Windows Explorer? Occasionally the Gear drivers seem to go "walkabout" and need reinstalled.

Check the posts by Vineeth in the following thread.

The drive appears in Windows Explorer, and also shows up OK in the N360 Diagnostic Report

Hi balrog

Try the reinstall. Make sure that you have a copy of your activation key which you can, if necessary, get from your Norton Account at www.mynortonaccount.com and, if you use Identity Safe, then back it up to a .npm file so that it can be restored later.

This is now solved.

I downloaded a trial copy of Ghost 15 today. After it was installed, I found that N360 was now showing the missing DVD drive as a possible backup destination.

It seems that something about the Ghost 15 installation procedure must have "corrected" the problem in N360.
