Missing green ticks

I have Norton Toolbar enabled on 3 PCs with FF3.5.2.

With two of them I am getting the green ticks on Google searches but the other isn't working.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ian

Hi langh,

One possibility: The Norton  Safe Web search result icons require that scripting be enabled.  If you are using NoScript make sure that it is not blocking Google.com.

Have a Good Day!

This issue is caused by some changes made by Google in their searching home page http://www.google.com.
Try to use the following two workarounds.

  1. You can search from the Search box provided in the right top corner in your Firefox browser. You can change your preferred search engine to Google if not selected.
  2. You can search from the Firefox co-branded Google search home page (http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-USofficial)

I'm confused as all 3 PCs use Groowe https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/534 to access Google.

Two work but one doesn't?

What happens when you use www.google.com on the machine which didn’t work the other way?

No green ticks even when using google.com in the address bar.

BTW, how do you quote and reply to a specific message?

Iangh,

Just so we check all possibilities, look under Norton's "Identity Settings" tab and make sure that "Enhance Search Engine Results" is turned on.

To quote a specific post click the "Reply" arrow in the upper left corner of the post.  In the post editor you will see a "Quote" button in the upper right.

Thanks.

Enhanced... is turned ON.

Problem solved!

Skype FF extension conflicts with Norton Toolbar so remove Skype extension.

Further to my question regarding the missing green ticks on my laptop, I apologise for my late response, I have been away for a couple of days. Many thanks for all the responses.

Best wishes

If you're not seeing search results annotation (green tick).  Try remove & reinstall Norton Safe Web browser extension.  Do not use Incognito window.

Norton Safe Web - Chrome store

Browser is Chrome

Many thanks for your replies; much appreciated.

AI69:
Hi, I notice that on my PC Norton places green ticks by search results to show the site is safe but on my laptop these ticks are missing. How to I get them to show?

What browser?
What Norton browser extension/s?

Norton Safe Web extension supports Search results annotation for Google/Yahoo/Bing on Chrome browser alone.

For Firefox/Edge/Safari browsers, we don't offer the search annotation on Google/Yahoo/Bing, but our extension will continue to offer below features on Firefox/Edge/Safari.

1. Protection from Sites with threats
2. Antiphishing protection
etc

Whether you have the Norton Safe Web browser extension installed and active or not, if you have a Norton Device Security solution installed on your device, you are already receiving multiple layers of protection against a wide variety of cyberthreats.
Installing the Norton Safe Web extension gives you even more protection by enabling you to take advantage of the new features described above.
