Mobile Security Activation

I access the website (www.norton.com/mobilesecurity) in order to install it on my iPhone 5.

In doing so, I followed the directions on the site, which automatically brought me to ITunes App Store in order to download the app for free. On the site, the last step is to launch the Mobile Security app on my iPhone and log into my Norton account in order to activate the app and add my device to the account. When I attempt to log into the Mobile Security app on my iPhone, it gives me the following message “Norton Mobile Security is not activated for your Norton account. To activate the service, go to the Norton website and sign into your account.” As such, the website advises me to log onto to my account on my phone to complete the activation, and my phone tells me to log onto to the website to do it!

In essence, I am caught in a vicious circle. Please help!

Thanks very much, this is very helpful.

The need for a subscription is not really explained anywhere through iTunes, which led to the confusion.

One more question, if I am may. In viewing the product information for Mobile Security while looking at prices, I noticed that the software protects Android phones from mobile threats. Through that statment, it would suggest that iPhones and iPads are not fully supported by this software, and that security against mobile threats is only available for Android phones.

Is that correct?

thanks again.

Hi LordVawn

No worries i am glad i could help. :)

I regards to Norton Mobile Security (NMS) features and the different OS's the

info in the description for NMS in the Norton Online Store can be a little confusing

for iOS device users.

More info and the features that iOS users will get from NMS can be found in the

NMS website from the link below -

https://mobilesecurity.norton.com/

Or for the best description of features for IOS iPad and iPhone users would be in

iTunes -

https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/norton-mobile-security-lost/id520284590?mt=8

More details of the iOS version of NMS and it's features -

•Find your lost iPhone or iPad on a map with the remote locate feature.

•Trigger a “scream” alarm to quickly locate a lost phone or tablet

•Backup your contacts and easily restore them or share across all your mobile devices

•If you lose your iPhone or iPad and forgot to lock it, remote call lets you place an Internet call to your missing device and make arrangements to get it back (if device is locked then call will not be answerable)

•Control security for all your mobile devices through one convenient website

iOS devices have some pretty cool and useful features once the NMS app is installed

and activated and registered with a paid subscription.

I hope that info is helpful and do not forget that if you have any further questions or

issues with Norton products that you can always return here to the Community forums

where we will help where possible. :)

Cheers. :smileywink:

Had a similar problem with iTunes. I hate that site with a passion.
