Have a new Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7 with Norton Mobile installed. Every time I activate the Web Protection portion of the app for Firefox, it seems fine for a short time… and then it turns itself off. I’m not sure why it’s doing this; can anyone offer me some advice?
Tablet is currently running Android 5.1.1, if that helps.
I just installed FF onto my Android phone, and it shows FF as protected.
Try deleting the NMS app data. You will need to turn off the Device Administrator option in NMS Settings. The go to Android Settings - Apps, then find the NMS app. Delete the app data and then restart the phone. You will have to sign back into your Norton Account to activate the full version again. Also, be sure you reset the Device Administrator setting.
We are running version 3.16.0.3185, and have Chrome installed (you actually can't uninstall Chrome- only disable it, thanks Android) but Firefox is set as the primary browser.
We have had the Device Administrator on, but checked to make sure (it's still active!).We also went ahead restarted the device to make sure the problem is still ongoing (restarted, and like usual, Norton doesn't show Firefox being protected- however it still shows Chrome is being actively protected).
What version of NMS are you using? Current version is 3.16.0.3185
Does the protection for other browsers get disabled as well?
Have you restarted your device?
Check to see if you have turned on the Device Administrator setting in NMS. From the main NMS screen, tap the 3 bars at top left, then tap App Settings. Scroll to the Anti Theft section and turn on Device Administrator. This should help protect from changes to the app's settings.
