More Info in Security History > Quarantine Crash

Went to remove a NIS quarantined item and clicked on the more info hyperlink, this repeatedly brings up a black box which stays non-respondent. When the this is shutdown, it causes NIS to crash and stop  running and it must be restarted by a reboot. Thanks for any assistance

Hi,

can you please tell us the exact version of your Norton product?
1. Open the main window
2. Click on Help & Support -> About menu
3. On the About window find the version number (it will look like this: 20.2.0.19)

Thanks!

Hello and thanks for your response. It shows as version

20.1.1.2

Glenn

Does this behavior caused by only one file / report in the Quarantine, or is it caused by multiple elements.

And what kind of file did Norton quarantined? An application or an other file type?

And a final one: before this version of Norton product, did you have a previous one? If yes, how did you installed the new one (installed over by the old version, or did you removed the old one first with the Norton Removal Tool)?

Thanks!

Hello PapuaZ,

This is the only file that I have ever attempted to get out of quarentine, so this is my first experience. The file is and executeable AV that has been quarantined as a medium risk. As to the version, I don't recall if I used the Norton Removal Tool when installing this version. Thanks again!

Glenn

Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run  Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.

Hello Peterweb,

Using the autofix seems to allow the info page to come up. Unfortunately this advises that the file was deleted and apparently unrecoverable. Thanks for helping me get the program running better!

Glenn

Glad it helped, a little.

At least now you can see what is reported.
