  • 360 has 100% guaranteed virus removal?
  • Should I disable 360 to run a MBAM freeware scan? (conflict issues):smileyhappy:

Hi,
You can run Norton Power Eraser at any time. The caution is that it is a powerful tool and may give you a false positive.

http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx

is the link to the stand alone version

I don't know of a sane developer who would ever consider a 100% guarrantee of removal. Various types of threats are being developed by the thousands daily.

There is no need to disable 360 when running the free version of MBAM, there is no conflict. Same for running the free version of SuperAntiSpyware.

We'll be here when you need us. Til then

Hello

I wouldn't recommend running the power eraser just thr the heck of it. It is still an advanced tool and if it finds a file that it says should be removed and you do it, you do run the possibility of deleting a system file and you are left with a dead computer. There is a reverse part where it will restore it to prior state, but that won't help if you can't reboot or start up your computer. It's not a tool to run just to find out how it works. You need to have a definite indicatiom of malware and you should be following the instructions of a removalist to run it. I realise that it now comes as part of the norton products instead of just a link to the program. It's still a very dangerous tool in my opinion..
