Hey All,
I am currently running Win XP-SP3 Pro 32 bit and NIS 2011 18.6.0.29 (I still have a file copy). I originally purchased my NIS at retail with CD and a 3 computer license, this is the only install I have performed.
Next week I am receiving my new computer. A Maingear running Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit and I need to install NIS on it after initial setup. Questions:
1) I usually wait at least 6 mos after a new NIS release to utilize so all the usual bugs get worked out (that would be the 2012 ver). So can anyone confirm that NIS 2011 18.6.0.29 supports and functions properly on Windows 7 - 64 bit? (For this answer I am not looking for why I should upgrade, just will this specific NIS version work on Windows 7 - 64 bit?)
2) If I decided to go with NIS 2012, can someone provide me with the link to download the current version of NIS 2012 19.2.0.10. I need the program file so I can install NIS before connecting the new computer to the internet.
3) I have a Norton Account and my NIS software was originally registered into it. After installation of NIS 2011 or 2012 on my new computer do I simply utilize the product code that came with the original disk again to activate NIS? Can I go directly to NIS 2012 or am I required to first load NIS 2011, then register, then upgrade to 2012? Anything else I need to know?
