I believe this to be a problem related to NIS 2011.
Trying to deactivate items in an overloaded startup menu in Windows Configuration Utility in MSCONFIG, I get the following
message: "An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using as an Administrator account to make the specified changes."
Any changes made are undone next time I start the Laptop.
I have followed similar threads in this community but they end abruptly without conclusion or solution.
I have tried to do this in safe mode. I am logged on as an administrator. I am using NIS 2011 on Windows XP Home SP3 32bit.
Your help and advice is much appreciated.
