Multi User Package

Hi

Can I install NIS 2010 ( multi user package) on 3 home computers with different  IP addresses?  or multi user package can only be installed on home network computers?

Thank you.

As far as I know, there is nothing against you installing it on PC’s with a different IP address.

I have installed NIS 2010 on 3 different PC's without any problems.

The IP addresses change sometimes according to how many pc's are switched on.

Haven't had any prob's.

Hi azghmed,

This should be no problem, you can install your NIS on different computers. Since you have a multi-user package, you can go to this link in order to download your Norton product to install on your other machines:

Can the same yearly subscription be shared between two computers running NIS 2010 multilicense or must I purchase an additional subscription for the second computer? Thanks.

If you have, for instance, a licence for 3 computers, then you can use the same subscription on all three computers, you don't have to purchase an extra subscription/licence for the additional computers. Just bear in mind that the subscription days are counted from the time of the first installation on all three computers (=the number of subscription days remaining is the same on all three computers even if you installed your Norton product at a later time on your other machines). You can read more in this very helpful post by Tony Weiss:

If you have a multi user licence key, you can use it on your second PC, it will run out on the same date, as on your first PC, i.e. 1 year from when the key was first activated. ( Or 2 years from then if it was a 2 yr. licence.

In other words, you use the same product key and same subscription for multiple computers in the case of multiple-user licences

Thanks very much for the information. I guess I will install NIS soon on my other networked computer.
