Multiple (2) instances of NAV/NST running in Win7 (x64)

I've just migrated my desktop within the last week over to Win7 (x64) from WinXP (clean install) and moved my NAV21 and NU15 over to the new OS. No issues to report there, all programs updated to the current update set.

I have noticed however that upon waking my computer after an overnight break, there are two instances of NAV.exe and NST.exe running in the task manager (there are also two NAV icons on the taskbar which alerted me to the issue). I've disabled Win7's hibernation mode, so any scheduled overnight background scans by NAV can be executed at the scheduled time. Only the monitor gets shut off.

One instance of each is being run by the SYSTEM, the other, is being run by the active logged-in user account.

I usually end up rebooting my computer to remove one of the instances, which seemed to work in the past couple days, but this morning (Apr 19th) it didn't — NAV was scheduled to do a full system scan at 05:15 this morning. It's now >5 hrs later and NAV is still [apparently] slogging away at its scan. Despite having a 1TB & 500GB drives installed, it never took this long previously for NAV [in WinXP] to execute a full system scan. Nor did WinXP ever run two instances of NAV to perform a scan—only the SYSTEM instance is showing the significant resource activity, the other [user] instance of NAV seems to be idle.

What's going on here? It's causing a major performance hit.
