Multiple downloads on one purchase (in different countries)

I have Norton 360 (Version 5.2.2.3) on my computer and have six days left of the one year subscription and I want to renew it. I am currently living in South Korea and was wondering if it possible for me to download it, but for multiple computers so that the computer my family use back in England can also be renewed. (Or vice versa - can my family buy a package and I download a renewal.)

Thanks.

Thank you very much for your reply!

My Norton Account says that i have three 'Licensed Installs' with two 'Available Installs' remaining. When i download a new product when renewing, do i have to use one of these installs? Or is the new product simply downloaded on to the existing installed software?

I am not sure if my (and my family's) current installation is Premier or Standard. I think it may be the latter but is there a way that I can check?

I think that I will choose your first proposed solution and ask my family to but a multiPC version and then them email the KEY.

Thanks again for your help.

Michael,

So far as I know the only difference between Norton 360 Standard and Premier is that Standard has 2GB of free OnLine Storage and Premier has 25GB. So can you tell from that? I don't have it installed on a machine I can check quickly but if I can tonight I will.

Just found one way -- If you click on Account on the main screen of your N360 you should see a list of Norton Apps including Norton Management. Click on that to download and install it and let it do its thing. When it finds your installation click on My Account TAB and let it update so that N 360 shows under Products -- you should see Purchased Storage:2 GB and I guess 25GB if its Premier ....

Those details are based on NIS so you may have to deduce on N360.

If your family in the UK buys a 3PC copy of Norton 360 matching your specification and send you the KEY it will work if you want to install N 360 V20 (= 2013) but if you want to stay with V6 (= 2012) then although the KEY is valid for earlier versions there is a glitch in that some do not work on earlier versions but are quickly replaced by Norton OnLine Support.

Do you use the Norton Identity Safe feature of N360 -- I'm not sure about your V5 but with V 6 the data file is both on your hard drive and on the Norton servers -- "in the clouds" so you can access it after a crash or from another device. On the newest version they only hold the data "in the cloud" so far as access is concerned.

Does this matter to you? If you are using Identity Safe and if you want to stay with V6 (which I'd recommend over V5) and if your family in the UK can only buy a 2013 version they may need to get in touch with Norton for the replacement key to send to you. But I think the best bet is to deal with this when if it happens  since installed without the key gives you I think it is 15 days free trial with full protection.

Let us know about the Identity Safe and what you find after you install Norton Management which is useful to have anyway.

Are your family reasonably comfortable with computers? There are very legitimate sources both on line and retail stores where there are good prices available especially around now but they should make absolutely certain that they buy from a legitimate source AND that they do not buy a copy without a KEY but activated under a special arrangement that some stores have where they do the activation -- an d in the UK especially there is a GOLD edition of N 360 which I know little about except that it has some extra features and may have special activation -- I would not know how to download a copy of it for you.

Hello.

My family eventually bought a new Norton 360 package in England for three computers. They gave me their login details and I was able to download it on to my computer here in Korea. Everything seems to have worked out fine.

Thank you very much for your replies and all your advice, it is greatly appreciated!

Michael,

Thanks for letting us know -- you know where to find us if you need more help

Remember to change Automatic Downoad of New Version to OFF and not to go to the Update Center even if you get popups or emails telling you there is a new version or an update (these messages sometimes use Update when we refer to Upgrade -- like going from V19 to V20 ......

Check back with us if this happens.

The ordinary LiveUpdates are fine and cause no language problems.
