Hi there, I'm not having much luck with Norton at the moment and would welcome any insight and suggestions you might have.
Firstly my installation of NIS2009 failed after about 8 months last month some time. Unfortunately I didn't realise this for a couple of weeks since the new engine is so much quiter than the older versions. In that time it appears that I picked up some email bourne bugs.
Last weekend I bought and downloaded a completley new NIS 2010 and after waiting several hours for it to install, update and run a full system scan it told me that I had 13 unresolved issues that needed my attention. These turned out to be multiple copies of Downloader and Trojan.Pandex As I type NIS is yet again trying to remove one of them. NIS has so far proved completely unable to do anything about these finds and directs me to remove them manually. I have followed the instructions on the Symantec website to do this but still Norton finds these files.
Having read through the forums I have downloaded, updated and scanned using Malwarebytes, Spbot S&D and SuperAntiSpyware none of which find any problems at all! I have done most scans in Normal mode and Safe mode. This leaves me wondering if NIS is false reporting or are the three malware scanners not finding them?
